Lightning strike sparks house fire in Castleford
A thunderstorm and torrential rain saw parts of the Five Towns under more than five feet of water.
Firefighters from stations across the county worked through the night to help people evacuate their homes and pump water from flooded roads.

Hide AdCrews from Castleford were also called to a bungalow on Meadow Court, in Townville, at around 8.20pm.
Watch Commander Dave Smith said lightning struck the roof of the property, which caused wiring in the loft to ignite and led to a small fire.
He said the homeowner, an elderly woman, was not injured in the incident.
