The warning, which affects much of West Yorkshire, including the Wakefield district, comes after a morning of delays and disruption for the district following an overnight snowfall.
Temperatures in the Wakefield district are expected to fall below freezing in the coming days.

Hide AdAnd the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow on Wednesday and Thursday, noting that the weather is likely to lead to longer journey times by road, bus and train services across Wakefield.

Scattered wintry showers will become few and far between overnight and confined to coastal parts. Temperatures falling towards zero will allow frost and perhaps a few freezing fog patches to develop. Maximum temperature 4°C, minimum -3 °C.

Staying cold, but generally dry inland. Overnight frost or freezing fog patches may be slow to clear, with isolated scattered showers again possible towards the coast. Maximum temperature 3°C, minimum -2°C.
